| THE ABRAHAM STORY pt 1 |
DID ABRAM BELIEVE? REALLY??
While Abram was still in idol worshipping country, Yahweh called him out, and told him to leave his country and his relatives. Yahweh said, "you start travelling and I will show you where your destination is to be." How's that for adventure?! Anyone want to sign up with that travel agent!?!? Evidently Abram believed Yahweh was totally trustworthy because he obeyed and went out not knowing where he was going. (Heb 11:8) He probably prayed more than once 'Show me your path Yahweh'!!
When he came to the land of Canaan Yahweh said "walk around in the land (all up and down, and all the way across) its length and its width."
(Gen 13:17) THIS is the land I will give to your descendants.
(Gen 13:15) So Abram traveled all around in the promised land, setting up his temporary tent, considering it a foreign country. He received no inheritance in it.
(Acts 7:5)
Why did he consider it a foreign country? Didn't he believe what Yahweh told him? If believing is to be so convinced that you live differently, then Abram certainly believed. In fact he believed so firmly, that he was considered righteous. And evidently Yahweh was so pleased with the obedience of his faith, because His testimony of Abram was "he is my friend."
(Jam 2:23 & II Chron 20:7)
Evidently Abram, Isaac, and Jacob were ALL wise enough to see beyond this earthly life, and SEEK a better country, NOT the one they came from. They all lived in temporary dwellings (tents) declaring they were strangers here and LOOKING FOR a City with foundations, whose builder and maker is Yahweh/God.
(Heb 11:8-10)
[By the way -- tents have no permanent foundation do they?!?!?] They were so convinced that God had prepared a better country for them. And since they believed, and DESIRED a heavenly country, the Bible says, Yahweh is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared for them a city.
(Heb 11:13-16) By the obedience of their faith they pleased Yahweh
(Heb 11:6)
Then about 2000 years later when Yahshua humbled Himself, became a man and lived among us, what did He say? "I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob"!!
(Mat 22:32) Sounds like He was pleased to be called their God!! And still to this day, after another 2000 years, how do we know Yahweh our God? As the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This is what Yahweh said, "But you, Israel, are my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the seed of ABRAHAM MY FRIEND.
(Isaiah 41:8)
Now what about you and me? Are we going to believe so firmly that Yahweh is totally trustworthy, and prove it by our obedience? What will Yahweh's testimony be of me? Would He want to be called my God? II Chronicles 16:9 tells us that the eyes of Yahweh run to and fro through the whole earth, to show Himself strong in support of those whose heart is perfect toward, whose heart is completely His.
Wouldn't it be exciting to go on a journey of faith with an all-powerful, all-wise, Friend who created you and loves you with such pure live, so that you could totally trust Him, and return to Him joyful obedience? Oh what a witness you could be to everyone around you, of His salvation, His love, His instructions for this life, and the promise of eternal Life in Heaven. Well, I say, let's all sign up with that travel agent!!! Make ME to go in the path of Your COMMANDMENTS for therein do I DELIGHT.
(Psa 119:35)
HERE IS YAHWEH'S TESTIMONY OF.....
ABEL -- offered to God a sacrifice, and obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying of his gift. Hebrews 11:4
JOB -- my servant Job, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and avoids evil. Job 1:8
MOSES -- My servant Moses...is faithful in all My house. Numbers 12:7 and Hebrews 3:2
DAVID -- ...He gave testimony, and said, I have found David, a man after My own heart, who will fulfill all my will.
Acts 15:8 And Yahweh/God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us.
If Yahweh, who knows MY heart, was on the witness stand, what would His testimony be of ME?
HERE IS WHAT ELSE YAHWEH SAID ABOUT ABRAHAM....
Gen 18:19 "For I (Yahweh) know him, (Abraham) that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of Yahweh, to do justice and judgment, that Yahweh may bring upon Abraham what he has spoken".
Gen 22:15-18 "Yahweh says because you have not withheld your only son, I will bless you and multiply you. And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; BECAUSE YOU HAVE OBEYED MY VOICE."
ABRAHAM TOOK THE TIME AND EFFORT TO MAINTAIN AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH YAHWEH
If Yahweh, who knows MY heart, was on the witness stand, what would His testimony be of ME?
"Here WE have no permanent city, but WE SEEK one to come." Heb 13:14 One thing I HAVE DESIRED of Yahweh, that will I SEEK after; that I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Yahweh, and to inquire in His temple" Psa 27:4
IT IS IN HEAVEN, THE CITY WITH FOUNDATIONS THAT WE HAVE A BETTER AND AN ENDURING SUBSTANCE, (HEB 10:34)
NEXT TIME ----- ABRAM LAUGHED! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!
1.
Heaven is
different from
earth
Jesus said,
"Lay up for
yourself
treasures in
Heaven, where
thieves do not
break through
nor steal. For
where your
treasure is
there will your
heart be also.
Mat 6:20-21
2.
This Heavenly
City is the
future abode of
saints
Jesus
said,
"In My Father’s
house, are many
mansions: if it
were not so, I
would have told
you. I go to
prepare a place
for you. And if
I go and prepare
a place for you,
I will come
again, and
receive you unto
myself; that
where I am,
there you may be
also. John14:2-3
3. Heaven, the
Holy City of
God, is the
location of
God’s throne.
IN
THE CENTER of
Paradise, the
City of God,
there is a
majestic edifice
of awe-inspiring
dimensions,
called the Most
Holy Place, or
Temple of Heaven.
Inside this
beautiful
structure is the
very Throne of
God,
characterized by
a glorious
rainbow.
(Ezekiel 1:26-28
...upon the
likeness of the
throne was the
likeness as the
appearance of a
man above upon
it. And I saw as
the color of
amber, as the
appearance of
fire round about
.....it had
brightness round
about...as the
appearance of
the bow that is
in the cloud in
the day of rain,
so was the
appearance of
the brightness
round about.
This was the
appearance of
the likeness of
the glory of the
LORD...)
Isaiah had a
vision of God’s
throne, high and
lifted up and
His train (a
glorious light
came down and)
filled the
temple. (Isaiah
6:1) John saw
souls under the
altar that is
before (in front
of) the throne
of God (Rev 8:3)
"The throne of
God and of the
Lamb shall be in
it....Rev 22:3
When Paul was on
the Damascus
road (Acts
26:13) he saw a
light from
Heaven above the
brightness of
the noonday sun.
A Voice from
this light said,
"I
Am Jesus."
In Rev 21:23,
we find that the
glory of God is
the light of
Heaven. This
means that the
city of Heaven
is brighter than
the sun. It is
another visible
manifestation of
God’s great
glory. (Mat
17:2)
4.
The Kingdom of
Heaven is the
place where
saints will
meet.
"The Lord...will
preserve me unto
His heavenly
kingdom" (II Tim
4:18)
Jesus said,
"...many will
come from the
east and west
and sit down
with
Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob,
in the kingdom
of Heaven." (Mat
8:11)
Jesus also said
"Blessed are
they who are
persecuted for
righteousness’
sake; for theirs
is the kingdom
of
Heaven...rejoice
and be exceeding
glad (persecuted
ones) for great
is your reward
in Heaven." (Mat
5:10 & 12)
Jesus referred
to Heaven and
the kingdom of
Heaven as the
same place--the
place of eternal
glory and reward
for those who
have entered the
spiritual
kingdom of God
while living on
earth.
This vision
of Jesus was
photographed by
Prince Adolph
Frederick
Wilhelm Van
Hapsburg, the
15-year old
grandson of the
late Emperor of
Austria.
It was taken
June 1, 1960 as
Yahweh appeared
to all in the
hall of Chichen
Itza in the
Yucatan Mission
of Mexico.
SO WHAT IS
HEAVEN?
It is the City
of Yahweh’s
throne. It is
the dwelling
place of the
Father and Son,
the angels, the
archangels, the
cherubim, the
seraphim, the
departed saints,
and the 24
elders. It is a
spiritual yet
literal
place--very
large,
very
bright,
very
beautiful
and very
exciting.
